wet scrubbers for air pollution emission control

Scrubber is an air pollution control device  that can be used to remove some particulates or gases from industrial exhaust streams. It is a pollution control device which uses liquid to wash unwanted pollutants from a gas stream. Industrial Scrubbers can also be used for heat recovery from hot gases by flue gas condensation. Scrubber are used for scrubbing fumes such as silicon tetrafluride, HNO3, HCl, NH3, Phosphoric acid, super phosphate & Fluorine.

The basic scrubber configurations are:

Venturi scrubbers

Venturi wet Scrubbers are commonly used in industries for air pollution control. Venturi scrubbers are used to capture smaller dust particles, chemical fumes, vapors, VOC’s etc. that are generated in industrial process. The main advantage of venturi scrubber is that it can handle the high temperature gas streams and they can simultaneously remove both pollutant gas and particulates at the same time.

Packed bed scrubbers

Packed Bed Wet Scrubbers are used to remove acids, soluble gases, chemicals, fumes and odors. The contaminated air flows through the packing media that is specially designed for each application. It is wetted with recirculated liquid. Liquid solvent is used to absorb the gas pollutants. A blow down from the tank with makeup water removes the contaminant products before they precipitate.

Spray type scrubber

Apzem Packed bed Scrubber are custom designed to capture sub micron particulate matter, chemical fumes, odors, and other water / chemically soluble fumes and Vapors generated in industrial process. All wet scrubber works on the principle of absorption technology, where the pollutants is made in contact with scrubbing liquid. The pollutants gets absorbed by scrubbing liquid either physical or by chemical means. The capturing efficiency of the scrubber can be increased by increasing the time of contact of flue gas with scrubbing liquid
